The Nintendo Switch Is Getting A Pair Of Telltale Games

Nintendo Switch owners have been begging for more games; more action games, more strategy games, more racing games, more adventure games, and more Telltale games! Well, in the case of the last entry, Nintendo Switch owners will actually be receiving two popular Telltale Games soon.

That's right... both Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and Batman: The Telltale Series are coming to the Nintendo Switch. The news rolled out over on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account. Within the span of just 150 characters, Nintendo doesn't say specifically that it's Batman: The Telltale Series or Guardians of the Galaxy, instead the account alludes to defending the galaxy and taking on the role of the "Dark Knight".

The fact that Telltale's only two games that allow you to defend the galaxy and assume the role of a "Dark Knight" are Guardians of the Galaxy and Batman, it's pretty obvious which two games are coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The only thing is, we don't know if this means that Telltale will start porting over Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series during the middle of its first season, or if there are plans to wait and lob over the first season in full when it's time to start the second season. The tweet is vague like that.

Additionally, the tweet also fails to signify if Switch owners will receive the first season or the second season of Batman: The Telltale Series. There's a pretty huge difference between both seasons, with the first season being more like Batman: Year One, while the second season features a more established and dangerous Batman, and is appropriately called Batman: The Enemy Within. If Telltale decides to start with the second season, then it means Switch owners will then catch up quickly with PS4, Xbox One and PC owners during the middle of the season. However, it would make a lot more sense if Telltale allowed Switch owners to play through the first season before focusing on porting over the second season.

I'm actually quite shocked that Telltale didn't start with the most popular brand in its stockpile: The Walking Dead.

The company is planning on a series finale starting in 2018. I'm curious if this will mean that Nintendo Switch owners will be able to join in on the action or if they will continue to miss out like with The Walking Dead: A New Frontier?

Telltale also has plans on releasing a second season of The Wolf Among Us in 2018 as well. I suppose it might use Guardians of the Galaxy and either the first or second (or both) season(s) of Batman to gauge if the Switch is worth supporting moving forward.

No release date has been set for both games on Nintendo's hybrid console, but the tweet mentions that both games are coming... so that likely means soon.
