We're already ready to wrap up the finale for Telltale's first season of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and the studio decided to do so by teasing gamers about the fifth and final episode with an epic trailer.
The trailer has some spoilers, obviously. Your choices in Episode 4, though, will greatly affect how things start off in Episode 5.
The trailer starts with Mantis explaining to Star-Lord that all of the Guardians will have to work together in order to defeat Hala. The trailer sets up the scenario of the Guardians being fractured and that they won't be able to stop Hala if they stay scattered about or are constantly at odds with each other.
Hala, meanwhile, is intent on chasing down and killing the Guardians. The last half of the trailer focuses on the Guardians finally coming together to defeat Hala and restore balance to the galaxy.
Now, some of you might be scratching your head because in the last episode of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy you might remember that no matter how the episode ended there were some pretty big plot points that completely changed the outcome of the team.
Some obvious spoilers are ahead if you haven't played the last episode, but, in one of the choices, if you let Drax sacrifice himself then he will be left behind on the planet inside the monster buried within the cave. Unless they go back to get him, there's a pretty big question looming overhead as to whether or not the trailer is showcasing the storyline following Drax having sacrificed himself or not.
It's really hard to to tell exactly which route the newest trailer is going in based on the mish-mash of characters and story threads that it combines throughout the Guardians of the Galaxy first season.
Obviously, no matter what choice you made in the last episode it appears as if Mantis is back again and helping out the team. It seems like perhaps Star-Lord and whoever is left with him from the last episode will end up joining with Mantis once more and the team will have to repair their broken trust and resentment toward one another.
Either way, it will be interesting to see how Telltale bridges together the very disparate choices from the previous episodes of Guardians of the Galaxy to neatly round everything up in Episode 5: Don't Stop Believin'. It's set to go live for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices on November 7th via digital distributors or through Telltale's online store.
