APB: Reloaded Gets Steamworks, Retail Edition Coming In December

The latest patch for APB: Reloaded comes jam-packed with some new content and features, most notably the addition of Steamworks integration so you can link your Steam account to your G1 account and play with all your friends from Steam in APB. The game will also be hitting retail yet again...and hopefully this time GamersFirst have better luck with it on store shelves than Realtime Worlds did.

In addition to adding support for Steam, which includes in-game messaging, taking snapshots to save to your Steam library and everything else that comes along with it, the game also received some notable cosmetic additions, such as a Pumpkin mask, a Sleuth set and an Agent set, so you can now make your very own rendition of Nick Fury.

Anti-cheat measures have also been kicked into high gear, with thousands of accounts getting hit with the ban-hammer and newbie cheaters losing access to characters and items. This also effects accounts who have cash shop items.

The latest patch also moves the game closer to patch 1.5.4, which will include brand new maps, modes, missions and features. This patch is expected to go live later this year with the re-release of the game in North America, on retail shelves.

According to the website…

Patch 130 resolves one of the 'rubberbanding' issues that was introduced in patch 123, though further testing is required for a permanent solution… Finally, the game will be in retail in North America in December. This means that the 'LIVE' version of the game will be scheduled to coincide with the retail release.

If you want to check out the game, for free, feel free to sign-up over at GamersFirst.
