Aliens: Colonial Marines For Wii U No Longer In Development

Sega has confirmed that the Wii U rendition or SKU is no longer in development. The official statement is a standalone at this point and Sega hasn't bothered to further clarify, leaving many to believe that the Wii U's version of Aliens: Colonial Marines is canceled for good.

As noted by PlayStation Gang, they reached out to Sega for clarification regarding the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines, which was at one point stated to be indefinitely on hold. Sega simply responded saying...

“Sega can confirm that the Wii U sku of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development.”

There were some starch rumors going around hinting at the Wii U version being the “definitive” version of Aliens: Colonial Marines, but that was later shot down by a tester who worked at Sega of Europe, stating that the Wii U version was actually the worst.

Eventually people became disgruntled at the fact that the game would probably never live up to its E3 2011 glory, however Gearbox did quietly release a 4 gigabyte patch for PC in hopes of fixing some of the game's major, glaring issues.

PlayStation Gang requested further information on the state of the Wii U version, whether the game would at least be released even though development has ceased or if the version is even complete. Sega has been mum about the game after the public fallout, and I'm almost certain that at this point they just want to distance themselves from the PR disaster and cut their losses by leaving the IP alone...for now.
