It appears Sony has secured exclusive content for the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed 3. The box art for the PS3 edition of the game claims that it will contain gameplay not available on the PC, Wii U, or Xbox 360 versions.
The updated box art, spotted on Amazon UK, mentions an hour of extra gameplay. Unfortunately, the retailer doesn't show the back of the game box so we can't find out any additional details for now. If they're able to give a concrete estimate as to its length, though, we can assume this exclusive DLC involves single-player missions rather than multiplayer content.
It's not unheard of for PS3 players to get Assassin's Creed exclusives. For Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, PS3 owners received a series of missions involving Copernicus. The PS3 version of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, meanwhile, included a free copy of the first AC. Ubisoft and Sony are evidently besties.
AC3 takes place before and during the American Revolution. The plot spans thirty years and will take players to cities, wilderness, and the sea. There are plenty of opportunities for DLC.
Ubisoft will release AC3 at the end of October. That's not all that far away so they should make this exclusive PS3 DLC official soon enough.
