Destiny House Of Wolves' Leaked Information Is Outdated, Bungie Says

Players are already putting together their ideas of what they expect from Destiny's House of Wolves DLC due out on May 19th later this spring. Bungie was quick to swoop in and explain temper expectations by quelling some of the more fantastical claims circulating throughout the game community.

There's a post on the Bungie.net forums from Bungie's community manager David Dague, addressing some of the claims that spawned from over on the Planet Destiny website about what's going to potentially appear in Destiny's upcoming House of Wolves DLC.

The rumored content was explained in a Planet Destiny video that you can view below.

According to Dague, the information in the video above is based on leaked information that's outdated.

In the forums, Dague states...

I know that rampant speculation will burn for a while on this topic. As you enjoy a conversation about the pearls of information that can be lifted from this, please bear a few things in mind...“[…] Aside from giving it a name, Bungie has yet to reveal the House of Wolves. That means that anything you know about it can change.”“We reserve the right to overwrite anything you're looking at right now. These placeholder items enable us to save room on your drive for actual future updates. [...]“Any stats or assumptions about power or impact or handsomeness are months old, and do not reflect the things that we're doing to adapt to what you've taught us about Destiny. [...]”

Some players are so gung ho on what they want and look for out of the upcoming Destiny DLC that it's easy to take every little bit and trinket of information and extrapolate that to nearly unmeetable expectations from the developers.

In a way, it's good that Dague took to the forums to explain that the team is working on content that's not quite what may be expected from gamers, but that it doesn't all mean it's doom and gloom. It just means to temper your expectations.

Destiny is a highly popular game and it seems to keep some gamers entertained while others have found reasons to steer clear.

The upcoming House of Wolves will likely do for the game what the Dark Below did for it: keep the fans happy while make the detractors question why the fans are happy.

As for the leaks leading to all this speculation and Bungie's community manager having to step in and explain away the situation, Dague takes a moment to directly address the leaks, saying...

“Leaks are fun. I totally get it. Please discuss to your heart's content. All we ask is that you leave your mind open to the evolutions that are inevitable. What you see here are very old ghosts from our pre-launch database. These are not necessarily the wolves you're looking for.”

Let's just hope the evolutions don't disappoint.
