Today at the Game Developers Conference, Bungie lead network engineer David Aldridge revealed a little something about the Halo developer's next project. It seems it's a "massively multiplayer action game."
Aldridge (via IGN) didn't say much else about the project, as the GDC panel discussion was centered on Halo: Reach. However, he did say the game wouldn't be "WoW in space." That's how the rumor-mongers had been describing it, you see.
Bungie's next game will be based on a new IP. Activision is the exclusive publisher and distributor of whatever games the studio produces in this "next big action game universe" for the next decade. However, Bungie will retain ownership of the IP.
