Indie Game Challenge Contest Entry Ends This Week

If you have a game or you’re working on a project with a team, this is the final week of entry to win any of the $300,000 in prizes and scholarships, including the $100,000 grand prize. It’s a heck of a lot of money and I’m sure a lot of independent developers could put it to good use.

GameStop, The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences are collaborating together to host the Indie Game Challenge for both one-manned independent developers and teams working on indie projects. The challenge is open to professionals and non-professionals alike, and submitting betas or videos of the projects is all that’s required to be considered, among a few other rules, of course.

According to the press release…

Up to 12 finalist teams will be announced on or about Jan. 15, 2010, and up to five members of each finalist team will be flown to an awards reception Feb. 19, 2010, at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas following AIAS’s D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit.

Participants have up until October 31st to enter. So, if you really need more info or want to get your project out there and noticed, with an opportunity to win $100,000 or receive a paid scholarship, then you might want to head on over to the Official Indie Game Challenge Website.
