PlayStation 4 Launch Games Total 23

Launch windows are a tricky thing to nail down. Some last for a few weeks and other, in the case of the Wii U, last for several months. When it comes to launch day lineups, however, the guessing and debating finally comes to a halt because, once the system launches, a game is either ready to roll or it isn't. The PlayStation 4's launch day lineup shifted a bit between the announcement and the actual events, resulting in 23 games that players can pick up and play right this very minutes.

From big AAA releases to smaller indie offerings, previous generation carry-overs to brand new offerings, physical to digital, the PS4 launch lineup has a little something to offer everyone. Sure, we were sad to see games like Watch_Dogs and the free-to-play Warthunder get pushed back, but it's hard to complain when there are nearly 25 other games just sitting there, waiting to be played. How many titles were you planning on plowing through in the first week, anyway?

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has released a final roster of launch day games, complete with a brand new trailer showing them off in action. If you're looking for shooters or action platformers, the PS4 has you covered. Need a driving game, or perhaps a round of football? Check and check.

“The next generation of consoles is now the current generation, and the world is ready to ignite in a flurry of mind-bending puzzles, hard-fought wars, white-knuckle races and heart-aching quests,” said Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements, going on to call the PS4 launch list one of the “most tremendous launches in PlayStation history.”

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I'm certainly more than sated when it comes to games for the time being. With two free Plus games, a couple of free-to-play actions romps and Killzone sitting on the shelf, I've got more than enough to keep me busy until that second wave of titles arrives. In case you're still unsure what your own options are, here's a complete list of the PS4 launch day lineup.
