If you don't have a console with an Internet connection, you won't miss out on the new content coming to Resident Evil 5. Capcom announced today that they will be releasing Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition in stores throughout North America and Europe.

RE5: Gold is a retail bundle that includes RE5 as well as the additional content that will be released digitally in the next year. It will be available as a single Blu-ray disc for the PS3, while the Xbox 360 version is an RE5 DVD with a download token for the new content - oh, so you're still shit out of luck if you're a 360 owner without Internet. It'll cost $40 on both platforms.

The upcoming DLC for RE5 includes two new episodes, costumes, and a "Mercenaries Reunion" mode that adds 8 playable characters and weapon load-outs. There's no mention to the contrary so presumably all of it will be included in Gold.
