Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows Gameplay Video Is Amazing

Spider-Man 2 is one of those games that I can just lose myself in for an hour or so. If I feel bored and don’t want to make any real progress in a current title I can pop that in and swing around the city. The problem is that the game itself isn’t all that phenomenal. It isn’t the best action game ever made. And the largest issue is the complete lack of true Spiderman fighting style. Essentially you land on the ground, perhaps throw a web or two, and simply pummel opponents. If you’ve read the comics, or witnessed the breathtaking Doc Oc fight on the train in the films, then you know there’s far more to how Spidey fights his foes.

That’s where Shabba Games, developer of the upcoming Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, has come in. They’ve taken what Treyarch established in the swing mechanics and the world then revolutionized it all with what is shaping up to be a high-flying kick ass fighting mechanic. I’ve been hearing that this might be the case, but in the video below you get a damn good look at the mechanic in action.

The simple ability to throw your opponents around and fight them in the air is enticing. Of course, this is a game and until we get our hands on the controls we won’t know how intuitive and fun it is to actually play. But watching the fighting in action is a lot of fun. Watch the video below and enjoy the fun yourself.
