The fighting series Tekken is going free-to-play. Namco Bandai has announced Tekken Revolution, a F2P game coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3 on June 11th.
Revolution allows players to battle A.I. enemies in Arcade Mode, or seek out human opponents in ranked and unranked matches. The game is said to have "an initial cast" of eight characters. Presumably that means you can unlock other characters over time, perhaps by paying money.
The game also features an interesting, RPG-like progression. Players can shape their characters by boosting three attributes: Strength, Endurance and Vigor. This allows you to, for example, make a "glass cannon" character with high damage and low HP.
Tekken Revolution will have some serious competition in the F2P space. Earlier this week, Team Ninja announced that they're making a free version of Dead or Alive 5.
The first trailer for Revolution, via Eventhubs, is above.
