Today streaming movies and television shows are available through the Wii. The console's Netflix service is now available for subscribers.
In order to take advantage of this service, you'll need at least an $8.99/month Netflix subscription as well as a broadband Internet connection. You'll also need a special "instant streaming" disc. You can sign up to receive the free disc at netflix.com/wii. It will be sent out to you via first-class mail.
All three major consoles now support Netflix service. It hit the Xbox 360 in November 2008 and the PS3 a year later.
