At sixteen years old, Abigail Breslin has proven numerous times that she has a lasting kind of talent and one we're still only just beginning to see as she continues to branch out with regards to the roles she takes. She was introduced to us as the adorable Bo Hess in Signs back in 2002 and we'll see her appear in another alien-themed film when the adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game releases into theaters next year. In the meantime, the roles continue to stack up for her.

Deadline is reporting that Breslin has been tapped to star in Nasser Entertainment and Prospect Park's thriller Final Girl, "about a pack of feral teenage boys who choose the wrong girl to be the victim of their final “initiation.'" From that, it seems unclear if this "initiation" is a dark fraternity prank gone wrong or something involving demonic/mystical elements.

Final Girl is set to mark the directing debut of photographer Tyler Shields and coms from a script based on a story by Steve Scarlata, Alejandro Seri and Johnny Silver.

The most appealing part of the brief description is "wrong girl," which I think suggests that Breslin's character fights back in some way. She certainly showed her tough side as Little Rock in Zombieland and we may just see her smart and compassionate side when she plays Valentine Wiggin in Ender's Game. And she's set to play a ghost in the upcoming film Haunter. It should be interesting to see what kind of personality her character has in Final Girl. From the sound of it, the character isn't the kind of girl you want to mess with.
