First we thought Seth Rogen's The Green Hornet was off, then we reported it was back on. And now the rumor mill is veering off in a totally different direction: casting. The Los Angeles Times, which for unknown reasons has a blog dedicated to superhero movies, spends some time bragging about seeing Seth Rogen at brunch, then tosses in a rumor that Adam Sandler might show up in The Green Hornet.

And not only would Rogen's Funny People co-star be in the film, but he'll be playing a superhero himself. "Two different people in the industry told me that Adam Sandler has a brief but key role in the movie as a certain surprise superhero...I heard which one, too, but I don't want to ruin it." Way to leave us out of the fun! Given the tone we've come to expect in Green Hornet, I think Adam Sandler would be totally welcome as a superhero in that world. That is, provided the movie gets made. Can we end the rumors and see some production stills already? This movie is coming out next summer, for God's sake!
