Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Promising Twins 2

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been working overtime to promote The Last Stand, his first starring vehicle since retiring from politics that pairs him with action superstar-director Jee-woon Kim (I Saw the Devil, The Good the Bad and the Weird). His latest marketing effort was an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit, where he opened up about a number of future projects, including a sequel to Twins.

When asked by a user if Schwarzenegger still planned to make a follow up to his successful comedy, the action icon posted:

Now, Schwarzenegger has been making this claim for some time, and we’ve yet to hear any conformation from either Danny De Vito or Eddie Murphy. Also, it would be interesting to see if Schwarzenegger would be able to lure Ivan Reitman back into the fold for the sequel. Whatever prevents him from filming the monstrosity that will be Ghostbusters 3, right?

It’s somewhat fascinating that Schwarzenegger is trying to relive the arc of his career in a post-politics world. He got his start in unapologetically brutal action thrillers, much like Last Stand, and transitioned to comedy once he realized that the audience would accept him in such a role. No one wants to see Jingle All the Way 2, but if Schwarzenegger can revisit the ludicrous Twins (or Triplets, as he has called it in some interviews) while bringing Murphy and De Vito along for the ride, we’re certainly game.
