New Batman V Superman Image Gives Us Best Look At Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader

Even amidst the glut of superhero movie slated to hit theaters worldwide next year, Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of, if not the most anticipated. Still more than five months away from release, we don’t know a ton about the film, though new bits and pieces continue to make their way into the public eye. And today brings us a new photo, and while it isn’t Earth-shattering, it does give us one of our best looks yet at Ben Affleck’s new iteration of the Dark Knight.

Photographer Clay Enos shared this photo on his Instagram account, along with the caption, “You asked for it…” much to the delight of fans of the Caped Crusader. This isn’t the first time that Enos has taken to social media to distribute looks at the secretive film to the masses, and it’s always nice to have someone working behind the scenes throw us a bone now and again.

This latest look at Batman gives us an almost full body profile view of Ben Affleck’s new costume, and though it is similar to what we’ve seen before, this is a pretty complete look. He’s not just wearing modified armor, like in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films, this is form-fitting custom job. According to what we’ve heard, this is a bit of an older Bruce Wayne, one who has actually been retired from crime fighting for years, though he certainly looks jacked as all hell in this picture. The billionaire industrialist may be a bit on the older side these days, but he’s still apparently in way better shape than most of us will ever be. I guess you’d have to be to think tangling with Superman is a good idea.

We also get a nice view of the newest version of the Batmobile, which continues to look more and more brutal every time we see it. It’ll be interesting to see how what appear to be guns mounted on the front of the vehicle jibe with Batman’s standard “no guns” policy. Perhaps he has had a change of heart in his old age, or perhaps they’re modified in some way to fight a super powered alien with near god-like powers. He can use every advantage he can muster.

With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016, the DC Extended Universe, as they’re calling their connected world of films, kicks off in earnest. Later that year, Suicide Squad follows, and after that, we’re getting Wonder Woman, Aquaman, two Justice League movies, and much, much more. It’s a good time to be a fan of comic book movies.
