Among his upcoming non-vampire roles, Robert Pattinson is set to play the lead in the Declan Donnellan/Nick Ormerod-directed Bel Ami. Based on Guy de Maupassant’s novel published in 1885, the story follows a man who rises to power in Paris while seducing and manipulating a number of women. The new trailer for the film offers another look at Pattinson as the determined and alluring Georges Duroy.

The trailer we posted for Bel Ami back in July offered a good look at Pattinson in the lead role, along with Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas. The trailer MSN posted this week includes a lot of the same material from the looks of it, but the pacing is different. Check it out below...

In the above trailer, similar to the previously released one, we see Duroy starting out looking down on his luck. After that, it’s boy meets girls, boy seduces girls, boy disappoints and hurts girls, drama ensues. And with it are the words of a determined man stating that he’s going to live.

Bel Ami is set to release in theaters in the U.K. on March 2nd. No word yet on when we’ll see it in the U.S.

MTV dissects the trailer in an article, which also includes a video of Pattinson as he talks briefly about his role in the film, and shares a funny story about watching Greystoke in a hotel in New Orleans, which doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Bel Ami, but fans will probably appreciate it nonetheless.
