Castlevania Adaptation Is Dead

A Castlevania movie would seem pretty logical right now, right? Vampires are all the rage, video game adaptations have been popular for at least a decade now, and there's money to be made! But Bloody Disgusting has it from a good source that Paul W.S. Anderson's planned adaptation of the long-running video game is on hold.

Sylvain White, who directed Stomp the Yard as well as the lesser known I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, had been picked to direct the story, which would have focused on the origins of the video game's Belmont clan of vampires. But hey, that's all in the past. The idea of a movie adaptation for this video game probably isn't entirely dead, but it won't be popping up very soon. Sorry if you're disappointed.
