For us muggles, the wait for more (literally) magical adventures in the wizard world has become incredibly tedious. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has slowly but surely begun its marketing campaign, but the film itself won’t hit theaters until later this fall. However, not all of us have to suffer through such a wait. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has just revealed that Warner Bros. treated her to a private screening of Fantastic Beasts, and we’re all overcome with jealousy.
The author of the Harry Potter novels posted the above tweet earlier today. It looks like she had a pretty good Monday – one made endlessly better by this generous offer from Warner Bros. Despite the fact that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them won’t come out for several months, she apparently got to see the finished movie early during her own private screening.
Of course, as the creator of the entire wizard world it only seems fitting that J.K. Rowling would get the opportunity to see Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them this early. Aside from merely showing respect to the person who created the Harry Potter universe, Warner Bros. likely wants to make sure that they have once again knocked it out of the park. Rowling’s seal of approval can go a long way towards ensuring that this new avenue to the universe is off to a solid start.
J.K. Rowling seems to fully understand just how awesome of an opportunity this is. When the entirety of Twitter started to voice its collective jealousy, she responded with a casual attitude that has become one of her trademark traits:
The importance of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them cannot be understated. As a spin-off of the wildly popular Harry Potter franchise, the film will open up a whole new avenue of the Harry Potter universe outside of Hogwarts, and present audiences with a new series protagonist in the form of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander. Fantastic Beasts could prove endlessly important for the future of Warner Bros. as it will afford them a potential goldmine franchise that doesn’t rely superheroes to draw in an audience. Rowling didn’t provide any information regarding the quality of the film itself, but our hopes remain high that Fantastic Beasts will surpass even the highest of expectations.
We here at Cinema Blend will keep you up to date regarding any and all updates related to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them as they become available to us. The Harry Potter spin-off will hit theaters later this year on November 18.
