Footloose's Miles Teller Cast In Are We Officially Dating?

Since playing the role of Willard in the 2011 remake of Footloose, Miles Teller's feature film appearances have been limited to a brief cameo as himself in the teen-party film Project X. But he has a number of projects in the works, so we should expect to see plenty of him come 2013. Among the growing list of films he's set to appear in is an independent romantic comedy called Are We Officially Dating?
Variety shared the news today that Teller is joining Zac Efron in the indie film, which is set to be written and directed by Tom Gormican. Based on a script that made the 2013 Black List, the romantic comedy follows three friends in New York City who are each on the verge of falling in love when they make a pact to remain single. Miles Teller has been cast to play Efron's friend and co-worker, "who like the protag, is determined to remain single and sexually active without having to make a commitment." With Teller's casting, it sounds like it's just a matter of finding the third person to round out the trio. And then, of course, there's the people these guys are going to try not to fall in love with.
Teller is set to appear alongside Shailene Woodley in The Spectacular Now, and also plays a role in Dylan Kidd's upcoming comedy Get a Job, which puts him among the ranks of Anna Kendrick, Bryan Cranston and Alison Brie (not a bad crowd!). He's already demonstrated his comedic abilities in Footloose, and showed us his dramatic side in Rabbit Hole. So far, he definitely hasn't disappointed, so it's good to see him lining up the roles.
