In just a little over a week, Marvel Studios will be taking movie-goers on an adventure though the cosmos. James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is set to rocket into theaters next weekend, and while the film won't be featured as part of this year's Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con, that doesn't mean that it doesn't have some presence at the annual geek-a-thon. In addition to just about every light post in the Southern California city featuring a banner for the movie, the Marvel booth on the convention show floor has also unveiled a full-size ship that you can see in the photos above and below.
While it's not really a full-size ship and really more of a pod (certainly not quite as big as Star-Lord's vessle, the Milano), the vehicle was fully detailed and viewable from many angles. Here is a view from the side:
As well as a close-up:
And here's a shot from the front, which is where the pilot sits and steers:
Does it look familiar yet? That's because it's the ship that Rocket flies through an explosion in the trailer!
Things are constantly shifting and changing on the show floor during Comic-Con, so while this Guardians of the Galaxy pod may be on display now, Marvel may have something completely different coming up during the rest of the week. Be sure to stay tuned!
