Housewife in Sentinel

I tried watching “Desperate Housewives” again last night, and this time managed to stick with it for more than five minutes. Actually, I made it all the way through, though perhaps it helped that I was working on a big stack of paperwork while it rolled in the background. Only half-watching it helped make it more palatable. Ok, maybe the parts I saw were even more than palatable, they were something near good. Better than yet another CSI at least. I get the feeling that Teri Hatcher is still playing Lois Lane though. I’d swear I saw her get in that same stuck in the floor predicament on one of the more lame episodes of “Lois & Clark”.

All that preamble is because I have an Eva Longoria casting story to dish out, and it seemed like a good time to wax poetic about something slightly related. Longoria is the “hot” one on “Desperate Housewives”, so I’m going to have a lot of fun in a few minutes searching for pictures of her to go with this story.

Well, according to Production Weekly, the hot one has been tapped to join the cast of the suspense movie The Sentinel. She joins a pretty big name group featuring Michael Douglas and Kim Basinger and written by the guy who wrote Ocean’s 12, Greg Nolfi.

The Clark Johnson directed movie (he’s responsible for SWAT so lower any expectations you might have had) is the story of a special agent (Douglas) trying to root white supremacists out of the White House while being blackmailed for the affair he’s having with the First Lady (Basinger). Where Longoria fits in there is anyone’s guess, but I think it’s a safe bet to assume she’s not a white supremist.

The Sentinel starts shooting in mid-May and bears no resemblance to the failed television of the same name. No, Michael Douglas does not have super taste-buds.
