Now nobody wants to put too much stock in AICN rumours - especially after Scorched Planet's short-sighted and idiotic AVP stunt - but if this one turns out to be true it could be the best news we've had in 5 years.
Harry is claiming that Bryan Singer, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the creative team behind X-2 have signed up to create a whole new Superman movie from scratch, binning everything that has come before and pressing forward with what has been tentatively titled - Superman Returns.
Word is that Logans Run and X-3 have both been put on hold. There is dispute over what will happen to the projects with rumour being that X-3 may press on ahead without Singer at the helm should he decide to go with Logan's Run.
Rumors of Singer & co's plan is that they wish to bin the whole "reimagining" angle and make this movie connect in somehow to Richard Donner's work - the hows and whys are not clear especially with regards to the previous sequels.
Has the success of Spider-Man II's intelligent yet action-packed goodness mixed with the runaway positive energy being lapped towards Batman Begins finally made WB pull their socks up in the best possible way?
