We have to wait until the end of the week to see The Hunger Games in theaters, but those of us who are excited about the soundtrack for the film have only to wait until tomorrow for it to make its debut. If you want another taste of what’s ahead, Taylor Swift recently performed a live version of the second song she has featured on the soundtrack. Check it out ahead.

The soundtrack for the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games includes a number of notable musicians, including Maroon 5, Arcade Fire, The Civil Wars, and Miranda Lambert, not to mention Taylor Swift. Swift’s recording of “Safe & Sounds” made its way online back in December. And while we probably won’t get to hear the official version of “Eyes Open” until the soundtrack releases tomorrow, here’s a live version of it, which Swift performed at Vecter Arena in Auckland New Zealand.

“Eyes Open” doesn’t seem to be quite as moody and haunted as “Safe & Sound.” There's sort of a croony-paranoid vibe to this one, with lyrics like “...everybody’s watching, even when you’re sleeping... keep your eyes open...” Kind of the opposite of “safe and sound,” right? A song like this could work great during one of the quiet moments in the arena, perhaps when Katniss is trying to rest, knowing that the game never stops until a winner is crowned.

I can’t wait to hear the recorded version and the rest of the soundtrack, which is available for pre-order at iTunes and releases tomorrow (March 20). The Hunger Games arrives in theaters March 23. For more information, photos and videos, check out our Blend Film Database.
