As was reported a couple months ago, when Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol hits IMAX theaters on December 16th, some audiences will be getting an extremely special treat: a six minute-long prologue for the finale of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Since then we've learned that the footage would only be shown in authentic IMAX theaters, but still it was unknown exactly where fans could go to see their first look at the last Caped Crusader movie. Today brings those details, via Coming Soon.
According to a press release sent out by Warner Bros., The Dark Knight Rises preview will be playing in 42 locations across the United States and Canada, and on December 21st four theaters in the UK will also show the footage. Below you will find a list of every single theater:
As we all really expected, the only theaters playing the footage will be in major cities, meaning that some of you that live out in the boonies might have to do a bit of traveling. Let's hope that the footage and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol are solid enough that they will justify some people having to travel 50 miles to get to the nearest theater. The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine, will arrive in theaters on July 20, 2012.
