Thor Writers Trade Hammers For Fangs

In today's cinematic climate, what's the one thing you would say Hollywood is lacking? Your obvious answer is 'vampire movies' since we've been in a veritable vampire drought for the past four years. Well fret not, dear reader, because according to THR Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz are set to sate your bloodthirst with Damn Nation.

Originally published by Dark Horse in 2005, Damn Nation was a three issue mini-series which followed survivors of an attack on the U.S. by “cruel nocturnal carnivores,” which is a really fancy way of saying vampires. The government is forced to relocate to London while scientists, doctors and generals search for a solution. Essentially it's 30 Days of Night in a 28 Days Later-type setting.

The writing team of Miller and Stentz are just coming off penning the script for Kenneth Branagh's Thor, set for release May 20, 2011. They've also lent their hands to the J.J. Abrams created Fringe as well as The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Their resume says to me that despite the utter saturation of the Hollywood market with vampire movies, these two with be able to craft something that will at least be violent and gory in true vampire fashion.
