Timothy Olyphant Gets Away To Hawaii

No matter how many more movies or television shows he stars in, Timothy Olyphant will have a hard time eclipsing his performance as the walk quietly and carry a big can of whup-ass sheriff and hardware store owner Seth Bullock in Deadwood. His performances in the mass entertainment movies Live Free or Die Hard and Hitman in 2007 come across more as a step back career wise than anything. Unfortunately, his next official project doesn’t sound like it will be moving things forward, either.

The Hollywood Reporter says Olyphant will start filming A Perfect Getaway in March. He will play a man honeymooning in Hawaii who ends up being stalked by two killers. I guess he could do something with a role like that. Luke Wilson played a similar character in Vacancy and was able to make it seem fresh. That said, it doesn’t hit you in the face as anything really original is going to be happening in that movie.

Olyphant is the only announced actor thus far, no word on who will be playing his new wife or the bad guys. The writer/director for the project is David Twohy . He’s most well known for making the Riddick movies Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick and also wrote The Fugitive and the upcoming Mark Whalberg sequel, The Brazilian Job.
