Watch Thanos In Action As Official Avengers: Age Of Ultron Scene Comes Online

Thanos just couldn’t help himself in showing up for an instant in the Avengers 2 mid-credits scene. The Mad Titan was shown putting on his stone-less Infinity Gauntlet, ready to finally do the dirty work himself. While you can re-watch this scene on the Age of Ultron home release, the clip hit the web in glorious HD for your enjoyment. Check it out below.

Josh Brolin voices the infamous Marvel villain. After making his first appearance in the Avengers post-credits scene, he showed up fully formed in Guardians of the Galaxy before making his third appearance at the end of Age of Ultron. "Fine. I’ll do it myself," he says in the scene. In The Avengers, he gave the Mind Stone to Loki so the trickster Asgardian to retrieve the Tesseract. In Guardians of the Galaxy, he enlisted the aide of Ronan the Accuser to acquire the orb. Now he’s ready to do it himself.

According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, there are two Infinity Gauntlets. That’s why Thanos is shown grabbing one from his personal vault, while another remains in Odin’s vault on Asgard. The one Thanos brandishes is lacking any Infinity Stones, but has room for all six. The Tesseract is Space, the orb is said to be Power, the gem in Loki’s staff is Mind, the Aether is said to be Reality. That just leaves two more to pop up in the films before Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 and Part 2 — Soul and Time.

Looking at the films that are coming in Phase Three, it seems likely that the Soul Stone could appear in Doctor Strange. Played by Benedict Cumberbatch, the Sorcerer Supreme commonly uses astral projection and travels between dimensions. Another option could be Thor: Ragnarok. We hear the Mjolnir-wielding Avenger proclaim a new mission at the end of Age of Ultron to track down the other Stones. Though Time could also pop up in this film, the subtitle Ragnarok points to the apocalypse of Norse mythology. In the comics, the event sees the souls of the dead arise from Hel, one of the Nine Realms. Perhaps Marvel will use one of these two Infinity Stones as the spark.

Last year, Josh Brolin teased his next appearance, saying he knows of one movie that will definitely feature the Mad Titan. Though, there are "one or two" he doesn’t yet know about. After Captain America: Civil War bows on May 6, 2016, the next ones on the slate are Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Spider-Man, Thor: Ragnarok, part one of Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and The Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2. Keep tabs for more information as it’s revealed closer to these release dates.
