Subscribe To Writer Hired To Pen The Adventures Of Tintin Sequel Updates
While I think it has the potential to be great, I'm not sure I understand why people think that The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is going to be a massive hit. Yes, having Steven Spielberg as a director and Peter Jackson as a producer is going to give any movie bonus points, but the source material doesn't exactly have Batman-level appeal in the states. Still, apparently the production is ready to start counting its chickens before they hatch.

Bleeding Cool has learned that Anthony Horowitz has been hired to script a sequel to The Adventures of Tintin eight months before the film's release. What's interesting is that Horowitz isn't one of the writers on the first movie, that credit belonging to Steven Moffat - who wrote the first few drafts - Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. The sequel will be titled The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun, and while Horowitz is the only credited writer so far, he expects to be joined by at least one other writer down the line.

Doesn't this remind anyone else of another project that was expected to be a worldwide blockbuster with a writer named Horowitz attached that ended up under-performing at the box office? That's right: I just made a comparison to Tron: Legacy.
