No matter how many times it blows up in faces, humanity just can't seem to realize that it's not a good idea to create dinosaurs, let alone put them on display in a theme park. While these decisions have always proved fatal to most in these creatures' direct path, for the moviegoers, it makes for good popcorn-chewing entertainment. The latest bout of dinosaur craziness will arrive next year in the form of Jurassic World 2, and to mark nearly reaching halfway point of shooting, this cool photo was posted that gives us a look at one of the predators that will lurking about.
At first glance, the only major thing this photograph provided by producer Frank Marshall shows off is the chairs that he and his fellow producers Colin Trevorrow, Patrick Crowley and Thomas Hayslip chill out in on set. However, if you look more closely, you'll notice the reflection of one of the dinosaurs that will surely be sighted in Jurassic World 2. It isn't much, but considering that the only other major, officially posted photos are of a girl in a room containing dinosaur skeletons and another of some dinosaur eggs, this is a decent step up. Still, nothing will beat that first trailer when we finally see one of the dinosaurs, new or old, running across the screen.
Jurassic World 2 kicked off filming in late February in England. A lot of the filming has taken place at Pinewood Studios, but aside from venturing out to other areas of the U.K., the production has also visited Hawaii. Since they're almost halfway finished, that means that principal photography will presumably wrap up in late June, or if the cast and crew need a little extra time, early July. From there the post-production work begins, and for a movie like Jurassic World 2, you need a lot of time to take care of editing, visual effects, etc.
No official Jurassic World 2 plot details have been disclosed to the public yet, although it's rumored that the story will revolve around the government training dinosaurs to carry weapons and be used in battle. Casting-wise, the latest entry in this long-running series will see the return of Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing and B.D. Wong as Dr. Henry Wu. New actors joining the mix include Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Geraldine Chaplin and Ted Levine, but none of their characters have been identified yet. Jurassic World 2 has also been described as working both as a direct sequel to Jurassic World and the fifth chapter of the longer Jurassic Park saga, providing a closer connection to the previous trilogy.
Directed by A Monster Calls' J.A. Bayona, Jurassic World 2 will wreak havoc in theaters on June 22, 2018.
