Scarlett Johansson Actually Took That Grandmother Look-Alike To A Movie Premiere

The internet went crazy earlier this year when 72-year-old Geraldine Dodd was revealed to be a doppelgänger of none other than actress/Avenger Scarlett Johansson. This eventually lead to Johansson promising she'd take Dodd to a premiere with her, when the opportunity came. Sure enough, the Rough Night premiere was the moment of truth, and the ladies showed up in style, as you'll see in the photo below.
As you can see above, the ladies showed up to the big ticket event with complimentary purses, displaying the name of the other party proudly. Playing up their twinsie moment, the ladies held the purses of their doppelgänger's name, smiles turned to full volume. With the ensemble comedy set to open this weekend, this heartwarming moment also plays as a good opportunity to plug Rough Night's spirit of female camaraderie. At the same time, it's just an awesome moment to behold, as it shows off yet another movie star going above and beyond to make someone's day.
Normally celebrities are known to take a significant other or a best friend to an event such as this. However, Scarlett Johansson made a promise in April, and she stood by it brilliantly. It's the type of anecdote that will go down in history alongside such moments as when Ryan Gosling took his mom to the premiere of Gangster Squad, or that time that Dakota Johnson took her mom, Melanie Griffith, to the Oscars as her date. You really can take anyone to a premiere, but it takes a truly interesting celebrity to use the moment as a fun story not only for themselves, but also for their date.
Though if you take a look at the original photo (as shared by Yahoo), you can see that the man with Geraldine Dodd kind of looks like Ryan Gosling himself. Should Gosling and Scarlett Johansson star in a film together, and should this gentleman be available, the opportunity for a doppelgänger double date would be too good to pass up. For now though, we'll just say that seeing Johansson embrace her other self is something that's only made us even bigger fans of hers. And before anyone snarks us about it, yes, we did see Ghost In The Shell.
Rough Night will hit theaters this Friday. So if you have a lot of girlfriends, or even a doppelgänger you promised a night out, this is a good way to spend a few hours.
