The Roles Jeff Goldblum Gets Recognized For The Most

Jeff Goldblum Independence Day

Jeff Goldblum is one of the most unique and entertaining actors in Hollywood. He's been responsible for some of the most iconic roles in movie history, but what he gets recognized for the most might be surprising. Yes, it's true that he gets recognized for the big blockbuster movies that he's done like Jurassic Park and Independence Day, but these days he also gets recognized for a much smaller role, his commercial work. According to Goldblum...

As you might expect, it's the ones that sold a lot of tickets that I hear about a lot. I get Jurassic Park and Independence Day. But a lot of people say, 'I saw you on the Apartments.com commercials!

Jeff Goldblum was already a popular actor with roles in films like The Big Chill and The Fly in the 1980s, but in the 1990s his career was elevated to superstardom with a role in Steven Spielberg's blockbuster Jurassic Park, followed just three years later with his supporting role in Independence Day. It's not surprising that he tells Variety these are two of the roles he's most often recognized for, if for no other reason than they're probably the two roles most people have seen.

Of course, it's also not uncommon for an actor to be recognized for their most recent work. Although, in this case, that makes things a little odd, since some of Jeff Goldblum's most recent work includes commercials for Apartments.com. Of course, if you've actually seen one of the ads, you know why people would bring them up to the actor. They are quite...memorable.

Goldblum is in the middle of something of a third wave for his career when it comes to big roles. He returned to the Independence Day franchise recently with the massive, however underwhelming, Independence Day: Resurgence. He's also on the verge of reprising his Jurassic Park role in the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom which will arrive in theaters next week. Odds are people won't be recognizing Jeff Goldblum for the ID sequel very often, but based on the early buzz, it sounds like Fallen Kingdom could be another big hit for the actor. We'll have to see which films survive the test of time. The fact that he recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Thor: Ragnarok is another way his characters won't soon be forgotten.
