New Solo Video Shows Bonus Footage Of Qi’ra And Han

Everyone's favorite scruffy-looking nerf herder got his first-ever prequel story earlier this summer when Solo: A Star Wars Story premiered in theaters. The movie fleshed out a lot of Han Solo's earlier years, but it also raised a fair number of questions about his relationship with Qi'ira, and her connections to the criminal underworld. Many fans were left with more queries than answers when credits rolled on the movie, and a new video for the upcoming home release has even more bonus footing of the two. Check it out, below!

Does that sequence look familiar? It should if you have seen Solo: A Star Wars Story. Specifically, the scene shown in the Expanded Edition of the Han Solo film is a more fleshed out sequence on Corellia, in which Han and Qi'ira attempt to make their escape -- including a more extended foot chase preceding their separation at the customs checkpoint.

This footage could've been necessary for a number of reasons. Chief among these is the fact that Solo: A Star Wars Story drops us straight into the relationship of Han Solo and Qi'ira, without providing much insight into the nature of Han's female counterpart. By offering up even more footage from the film's opening scene, the Expanded Edition of Solo: A Star Wars Story can give viewers a better understanding of who she was during her life on Corellia. From there, that also provides a lot more insight into who she would eventually become after the prologue when she eventually goes on to work for Dryden Vos and Darth Maul as a secret mole.

Of course, that video doesn't just feature extra footage of Han and Qi'ira. In addition to that fleshed out sequence, thr expanded version of Solo: A Star Wars Story also includes a far greater emphasis on Han's time in the Imperial flight academy, as well as further details on the origins of the galactic rebellion and how it all connects to the mysterious Enfys Nest. Some elements of Solo: A Star Wars Story were not given a lot of screen time when the film made its theatrical debut, but this seems to show a far more expanded (hence the name) take on the late smuggler's earlier life.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will debut on Digital HD on September 14, and the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD versions of the film will hit shelves on September 25. Pick up your copy of the movie in whatever format you wish, and make sure to stay tuned for more updates about the franchise from the galaxy far, far away as further details are made available to us. With that in mind, Star Wars: Episode IX will debut in theaters next year on December 20, 2019!
