Laurence Fishburne Joins Incredible Cast of Contagion

The cast of Steven Soderbergh's Contagion is already bursting at the seams with talent, including Matt Damon, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, and Gwyneth Paltrow, but now the 3D viral outbreak movie is adding Laurence Fishburne to make the cast one of the best ensembles in recent years. Variety confirms The Playlist's early report that the actor's schedule for the film will have to work around his commitments to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. While the report doesn't give the character a name, only saying that he will play a doctor, the film's IMDb page lists him as a character named Dr. Ellis Cheever.

If you can come up with a single reason not to foaming at the mouth for this film you deserve a medal. The talent involved both in front of and behind the camera is stellar and the plot sounds like a terrific thriller. I'd say mark this project down on your calendars, but I have to assume it's already there.
