Thomas Lippolis has been arrested for third-degree extortion, and Jersey Shore's Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Lippolis' ex-girlfriend, released a statement about her former partner's criminal charges. In her address, JWoww expressed gratitude to the law authorities who took Lippolis behind bars, saying:
I would like to applaud the Toms River Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office for their professionalism, expedited response time and unwavering attention to detail that resulted in an immediate arrest after I was the target of a serious crime. I feel fortunate to have the support of law enforcement of this caliber by my side, which has thankfully kept me and my children safe from those who have sought to victimize me.
In a statement made exclusively to Entertainment Tonight, JWoww claimed she was "a target" for Thomas Lippolis, and she is thankful that he is being taken into custody. JWoww is not only thankful for her own safety, but for the safety of her children and loved ones. She can now hopefully sleep easier.
While I am unable to comment any further in light of the ongoing investigation, I offer to you that I will share more once this matter is concluded, but in the meantime ask that you please respect the private nature of these legal matters so that the authorities may properly conduct their business operations.
Furthermore, while JWoww isn't able to discuss the legal matter more from the media standpoint, the reality TV star hopes people who have sensitive information about this ongoing case present themselves to the authorities, so that the police can have the evidence they should need in their casework.
As it was reported by the Toms River Police Department, Thomas Lippolis reportedly attempted to extort roughly $25,000 from the Jersey Shore star. He offered these services in exchange for "not divulging secrets to the media" which pertain to the MTV television personality. The behavior certainly sounds like blackmail, and now the behavior has landed him in hot water. The ex-boyfriend reportedly wanted to get some of JWoww's earnings into his pockets, using private or potentially dangerous information to make it happen.
JWoww and Thomas Lippolis dated for roughly a year close to a decade ago, according to the police. The information was obtained by JWoww's publicist. She received a phone call from Lippolis, who reportedly demanded the large sum of money from the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation television star. The police wanted to make it clear, however, that these claims are currently accusations at the moment as they continue in their ongoing case. Likely knowing that this case would be more high-profile given its connection to the television celebrity, the police wanted to make that clear, for now.
It's still an ongoing legal matter, and it won't be solved anytime soon. With that, we'll keep you posted if any relevant information is disclosed. It should also be noted that this isn't the only legal matter JWoww is dealing with at the moment, as she recently got a restraining order against her husband.
