Sam Lufti took the witness stand again today during his high profile breach of contract/ defamation lawsuit against the Spears family, and not surprisingly, he threw out more bombshells in the courtroom. Britney’s former confidant, and depending on who you believe, maybe her former manager, said the publication of Lynne’s memoir Through The Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World led to a spike in the number of death threats he received. Lufti sounded pretty shook up about the situation, but when he was asked about what he did in response to the harassment, his story broke down a little bit.

At first, Lufti told Spears’ attorney that he never reported any of the death threats to the police, but when his own attorney asked him later, he changed his mind and said he actually did call the harassment division of the Los Angeles Police Department but later lost the paperwork. According to E! Online, Lufti blamed the rapid change of course on having a bad memory, but one can imagine his flip-flop won’t sit well with the jury. That being said, it doesn’t necessarily prove that he’s lying.

Lynne’s memoir is pretty harsh on Lufti, and many observers have openly disliked him for years. Fans can get really obsessive when it comes to the former pop princess. Thus, it’s not altogether shocking that death threats could have happened. What do you think? Is Lufti lying or did Lynne’s memoir actually cause him to get death threats?
