Well, Lady Gaga sure knows how to let bad news drag on over several days. The pop singer recently postponed a few tour dates, but apparently her problems are far larger than the 26-year-old initially believed. The injury the singer sustained and then performed on has forced the “Born This Way” pop star to cancel the remainder of her tour dates.

Yesterday, Gaga sent out a flurry of tweets sounding crushed and heartbroken about postponing tour dates in Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton, Ontario. At the time, the singer stated she was having some joint problems, calling the problem “synovitis.” Apparently, however, her injury is even more serious. According to a statement on Gaga’s website, doctors determined today that the singer has a “labral tear” located on her right hip. Since that’s a big deal joint tear, the singer must undergo surgery, which means cancelling the remainder of her tour dates.

Initially, when it seemed like Gaga was simply postponing dates, it was easy to not feel too upset about the prospect. Now, that the tour dates are cancelled, it’s going to be a huge hassle for purchasers, venue owners, and ticket sites, alike. If you are about to have a bit of a mental freak-out, don’t try to get your money back just yet. Refunds will be available beginning February 14, otherwise known as Valentine’s Day. The Mama Monster couldn’t have planned that unfortunate coincidence better, herself.

It’s hard to be mad at a woman who is going to have to undergo major surgery, but that’s certainly a lot of money lost for a lot of people. Hopefully, the surgery will go well, and the 26-year-old will be back on her feet in no time. Besides, it sounds like she could use a little bit of rest.
