Patrick Wilson Plays Drums In A Van Halen Cover Band

With enough money to pay the bills, many celebrities devote a lot of time to their hobbies. Some, like musicians Justin Timberlake and Rob Zombie, have even made second careers out of these side passions, but for every one of those success stories, there’s a dozen famous faces happily having fun with no thought to switching jobs. Actor Patrick Wilson is one of those celebrities, and his de-stressing side project sounds like a hell of a good time.

Apparently, the Watchmen star is in a Van Halen cover band with his brothers called Van Wilson. The guys, bonded by both blood and a love for “Panama”, started the group a few years back and take gigs whenever they find the time. Patrick sings and plays drums while his brothers Paul and Mark handle the rest.

In addition to their favorite Van Halen tracks, the brothers also apparently drop in some Journey and Bon Jovi, as well as the occasional original or country song. So, if you're keeping score at home, favorites you can sing along to. People recently asked him about the project, and here’s what he had to say…

"There's no ego involved and it feels very natural. It’s just one of the greatest feelings, being able to play with your brothers."

It’s too bad for Wilson that he’s married because I’m pretty sure that quote is reason enough for millions of single women to give him a chance. Throw in his fame and fortune, and he’d probably be fighting ‘em off nightly. In all seriousness though, I would love to catch Van Wilson sometime. Too bad I don’t think they’ll start touring anytime soon…
