Randy Travis Arrested In A Church Parking Lot Again

Those who struggle with addiction are often advised to turn toward God, but unfortunately for Randy Travis, he keeps getting arrested at church. Just months after he was booked for getting hammered outside the Lord’s house and just weeks after he was booked for allegedly drunk driving around town naked, the country star was apprehended for assault by officers early this morning after a fight in a church parking lot.

According to TMZ, the incident started around 1 AM after a couple got into an argument. Randy, who was described as “extremely intoxicated”, decided to insert himself into the disagreement. Eventually, another man got involved and some sort of fight broke out between Travis and one of the random guys. Details are still very fuzzy on the specifics, but the singer supposedly ended up in the hospital, though it’s unclear whether that was to treat injuries sustained in the fight or to sober him up.

There are a few reasons why a stranger might want to insert himself into a couple’s argument. If something physical happened or was about to happen, I can understand why a man would try to put a stop to it, but given Travis’ ridiculous behavior the past few months, it’s hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he was in fact drunk, the best case scenario here is that he had like ten beers on a Thursday night and went to hang out in a church parking lot. Fight or not, that’s indicative of a larger problem.

Here’s to hoping Travis decides to put down the bottle sooner rather than later.
