Watch Will Ferrell Scream At New Yorkers About Elf In Billy On The Street

Billy On The Street has really been on fire lately. Billy’s Christmas-themed videos are usually something special, with his antics revolving around the holiday season, and how it applies to popular culture. He really hit the nail on the head when he and Buddy The Elf himself, Will Ferrell, ran through the streets of New York in onesies to terrorize strangers. Check it out, and make sure you’re not drinking anything as spit-takes might occur.

This is comedy gold. While Billy On The Street always has a way of making me giggle, people’s shocked faces when being approached by two screaming men in onesies is too much.

Perhaps my favorite question the duo consistently asked their victims was which Christmas movie was better- Elf or 1998’s Scrooged. With the Will Ferrell being the one asking the question, most New Yorkers answered that they obviously loved Elf more. Unfortunately for them, this only resulted in screams of dismay, as apparently Billy and Will prefer the Bill Murray Christmas movie instead. Frustrated with people’s apparent lack of Murray knowledge, Eichner eventually took to running the streets and simply shouting “Scrooged!” at people, resulting in full on screams of terror, and citizens fleeing from the two comedians.

Will Ferrell’s ability to really play and riff surely came out in this video. From the jump, Billy asks Ferrell if he’s ready to start their adventure, to which he enthusiastically responds “No”. Ferrell goes on to hilariously interact with the New Yorkers, even after Billy has yelled at them and moved on. Furthermore, he acts thoroughly offended if people haven't seen Elf, and even more offended if they've seen it and prefer his movie over Scrooged.

Past Christmas segments of Billy On the Street have been similarly hilarious, and more elaborately costumed. In 2013, Billy and Amy Poehler took to the streets in Charles Dickens style garb, and challenged New Yorkers to sing Christmas Carols with them.

For those of you who aren’t from New York, getting its citizens to even look up is merely impossible. With so many people asking for money, trying to sell you something, or just being generally crazy you kinda have to put headphones in and look straight ahead- at least in certain neighborhoods. That’s what makes the concept of Billy On The Street so great, he takes New Yorkers by surprise who may or may not know him or his guest. Often, they think he’s just a crazy person screaming in his face. And he is.

Billy On The Street has recently changed networks and is currently airing Season 4 on truTV. Make sure you tune in to watch him yell at strangers, make celebrities uncomfortable, and for his elaborate obstacle courses based on popular culture.
