Why Natasha Lyonne Revealed A Big OITNB Spoiler In An Airport

Spoilers ahead for this season of Orange is the New Black.

We're living in a world that is hyper vigilante about spoilers. With TV and moviegoers almost immediately taking to social media after watching their favorite program, it's become alarmingly easy to have your viewing experience ruined before it even begins. As such, you're basically forced to binge watch TV and see movies on opening night for you to truly be surprised by the events of the plot. Actors in popular TV series also struggle to keep the plot of their characters secret, especially considering how they'll most likely be losing money by spoiling the plot details. And it isn't always easy.

Natasha Lyonne, who plays fan favorite Nicky Nichols in Netflix's dramedy Orange is the New Black recently opened up regarding how hard it was to keep her character's plot hidden during hiatus, especially while doing press for some of her other projects.

I get through this whole day. Gangbusters, I did not reveal a single spoiler A nice, lovely TSA agent said, 'Ah, I'm such a big fan of the show. Are you coming back this year?' And, without looking, without blinking, I said, 'Yes, of course.' It was such a weird moment.

Woops. She really screwed the pooch on that one. This statement, which comes from Natasha Lyonne's recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, really hammers in how hard it is to avoid spoilers when you're trying to market a project you're involved in. It really seems like an annoying and surprisingly difficult way to go through life.

Nicky Nichols' fate was one of the biggest question marks going into Season 4 of Orange is the New Black. Orange surprised us all when Nicky was suddenly transferred into max last season after Luschek pins their heroin selling business on her. After this, Nicky was largely absent for Season 3, leading many to wonder if she'd be returning for Season 4. Luckily for us, she eventually got transferred back to minimum security, and rejoined likes of Red, Pennsatucky, and Big Boo.

Orange is the New Black has really been stepping its game up in regards to shocking plot twists. In addition to the tragic killing of one of the favorite characters, this season saw a ton of changes, including finally getting our first look into the world of max. While catching us up on Nicky's world, we also saw glimpses of Stella Carlin and Taslitz, who had been absent since she attempted to kill Vee back in Season 2. Surprisingly, we were not shown Miss Claudette, who has been absent since she attempted to strangle a CO in Season 1.

Are you glad to see Nicky back in Season 4? Was it really a surprise, or did we all assume she'd be back to get high, flirt, and get her rocks off this season? Sound off in the comments below.
