How Arrow Will Bring Talia Al Ghul Into Season 5
We've known for a couple of months that Arrow will finally bring in the most well-known Al Ghul sister, Talia, for the action in the second half of Season 5. Now, though, we finally know how that's going to happen. The official synopsis for "Second Chances," Talia's debut episode on Arrow, has arrived, and it lets us in on how her reveal is going to go down.
So, we can see here that Talia will, in fact, come onto Arrow via the Season 5 flashbacks that are focused on Oliver's time with the Russian Bratva crime syndicate. Apparently, Talia is in Russia at the same time as Oliver, and is ready and willing to help him get rid of Kovar, as long as she gets something in return, of course. But, it sounds like her price might be a bit too high for Oliver to accept her assistance, at least right away. Oliver made a promise to take down Kovar, though, and he's already been through hell to try to accomplish his goal, so something tells me that, before too long, he will eventually give in to Talia's demands in order to get her help.
Oliver is pretty damn tough and resourceful, but taking on a man like Kovar is a tricky task for a lone wolf. Talia is sure to be a badass ally for Oliver to have on his side, even if he will owe her big time for the helping hand. As someone who was raised in the League of Assassins, Talia has mad skills as a fighter. In the comics, she's always portrayed as someone of peak physical conditioning who's been trained in a wide variety of martial arts, is excellent at hand to hand combat and proficient with most handheld weapons. She's also very well educated traditionally, and has advanced degrees in business, engineering and biology. So, yeah, Talia will likely have both the smarts to try and take Kovar down efficiently and the fighting skills to deal with any trouble should a plan go awry.
We only have a few weeks to wait until Talia Al Ghul makes her Arrow debut on February 1. For what you can watch on The CW and other networks until then, be sure to check out our midseason premiere schedule.
