Subscribe To Will And Grace Is Definitely Coming Back, Here's How Updates

TV audiences have seen all manner of TV shows return to the small screen in recent years, and it's a trend that doesn't show any signs of slowing down. And if you're a mega-fan of NBC's Must See TV mainstay Will & Grace, then you won't love that trend more, as NBC has officially decided to bring the hit sitcom back. And guess what? It's happening this year!

Everybody was waiting for this announcement to happen, given all that has happened with the show's cast in the recent past, but no one would have been surprised if it took a lot longer. (Especially when some stars were saying that.) NBC announced during this year's TCA press tour (via EW) that the new and limited season of Will and Grace is being prepped to premiere during the 2017-2018 primetime season, and fans can look forward to 10 brand new episodes to howl at when it bursts through the apartment door.

Thankfully, the core squad that made the show great to begin with is back. Obviously the star quartet - Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes - are back for more pop culture namedropping and petty squabbling. Series creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are also back as executive producers and showrunners, and the show even got legendary TV director James Burrows to return to helm all 10 new episodes. (Burrows directed all of the original run's installments.)

Join us in celebrating with NBC's own announcement on Twitter.

Max Mutchnick and David Kohan obviously have lots of ideas for how they want these characters to fit into modern society, as seen in the wildly hilarious and surprisingly bawdy sketch from last September. But it'll be a while before fans get to know what they'll be getting into, beyond waxing on about celebrity break-ups and what'll be the then-current POTUS in Donald Trump. The LGBTQ community is a world away from what it was in the 1990s when the show started, so it'll be great to see how that's showcased, too.

Yeah, we'll be waiting a while until Will & Grace are back in front of our couches on a weekly basis, but it'll be worth it for all the Just Jack GIFs that are coming. In the meantime, head to the next page to watch the reunion sketch produced ahead of the Presidential election, and then check out our midseason premiere schedule to see what's coming.
