Will Bailey Show Up On The Grey's Anatomy Firefighter Spinoff? Here's What One Star Says

Warren and Bailey at the hospital

There's long running TV shows, and then there's Grey's Anatomy. ABC is currently in the midst of its whopping 14th season on the air, and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact, a new firefighter-focused spinoff is currently in development, with actor Jason George (aka Bailey's husband Ben Warren) set to move to that series as a series regular. While the spinoff doesn't currently have a title or release date, the groundwork has already been laid for Warren's eventual exit, but what does that mean for his wife? Will they stay together, and will Dr. Bailey end up guest showing up on the new series? Here's what Jason George recently said about it:

Risking your life on a day to day thing, that goes into deal breaker territory. So it was exciting to me, and at the same time, kind of stressful to me, for the same reasons it is to Ben and Bailey. So I think Bailey on the new show, she's not one to hold her tongue. We still have yet to see how this new situation plays out in terms of their relationship, if their relationship can survive this new piece.

Well, this certainly seems like a confirmation that Dr. Bailey will be showing up and stirring things up when Grey's Anatomy's spinoff finally gets off the ground. But fans have to start weighing both possibilities regarding the future of Miranda and Ben.

Jason George's comments to The Wrap seemingly slip that Miranda Bailey would be making the occasional appearance on the show's upcoming spinoff. He all but predicts what she'll do when she shows up-- specifically, not holding her tongue about her displeasure in his career change. We've already seen plenty of this during Miranda and Ben's tenure as a couple on the show. She wasn't too fond of his switching careers to become a surgeon, yet alone abandoning the program in order to jump into burning fires and save lives a more dangerous way.

Then again, it's more than possible that Jason George may have misspoken. The new spinoff isn't close to being on the air yet, so things are still developing with the folks over at ABC. It's entirely possibly that actress Chandra Wilson isn't interested in splitting her time between two different film sets. And if that's the case, then Grey's fans might have to come to terms with the fact that one of the show's longest love affairs could be coming to an end. Grey's Anatomy has never been a show that let their surgeons have completely happy endings, and Warren and Miranda have had an amazing run. We'll just have to wait and see how it all goes down.

Grey's Anatomy will return from hiatus January 18th on ABC. In the meantime, check out our midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch.
