Tyler Gwozdz, best known for competing to win Hannah Brown's heart in the 2019 season of ABC's Bachelorette, has died. A psychology graduate student and Boca Raton, FL native when he made his Bachelorette debut, Gwozdz was 29-years-old at the time of his passing.
The former Bachelorette personality died after he was hospitalized earlier this month when Boca Raton police officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call for a possible drug overdose on January 13, according to TMZ, and he reportedly remained hospitalized for a week after being admitted to the ICU in critical but stable condition until he was not listed as a patient on January 21.
The person who placed the 911 call allegedly informed dispatchers that Tyler Gwozdz had overdosed on a drug that might have been heroin, and was trying to get into a bathroom where Gwozdz was. Although he was reportedly turned on his back and the ambulance arrived, he tragically died due to the incident.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office did not provide details about what happened, but Deadline reports confirmation that Tyler Gwozdz's remains are there and an autopsy report will be available in 8-12 weeks. Although Tyler Gwozdz wasn't a finalist in Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, he did make an impression on the leading lady early on when he received the first one-on-one date with her. Viewers were surprised when he abruptly left the series without an on-camera farewell. Brown shared that Gwozdz (known on The Bachelorette as Tyler G. to separate him from Tyler C.) "had to leave."
