Warning: SEXY SPOILERS await in this article, so be sure to come back once you've finished 365 Days to completion!

365 Days helped people with a Netflix subscription fill our time in summer 2020. This Polish/Italian film had eyeballs poppin' during intense sex scenes, which led to it becoming one of the most sexually explicit movies on Netflix, and it also had plenty of detractors. It’s based on the Polish book of the same name by Blanka Lipinska, and follows mafioso Massimo Torricelli (Michele Morrone) and his love Laura Biel (Anna-Maria Sieklucka)... who was kidnapped by Massimo and given a year to fall in love with him, with her being released if she doesn't reciprocate his feelings by then.

This film is… A. Lot. But, many fell hard for the tale of mobsters, kidnapping and very explicit-looking yacht sex, so let's break down what happened at the end of the sultry saga that is 365 Days, and take a look at what’s next to see what viewers are in for with the sequels (which we’ll also get into a bit).

What Happened At The End Of 365 Days?

As you might have suspected, Massimo did get what he wanted shortly before the end of the film. After sending Laura back to Poland when he needs to get her away from some mob business (which does not make Laura happy), he goes to get her back. She's mad, but he turns his sex appeal up to 11, they anger bang up against the window of her super fancy high-rise apartment, and Laura tells him she doesn't need the full 365 days, because she's already in love with him. Yay!

With that settled (apparently, only two months past the kidnapping date), Massimo proposes marriage the next day (after slyly slipping an unfortunately small ring onto a sleeping Laura's finger), to which she agrees. The lovebird kidnapper and kidnapee head back to Italy, and Laura convinces Massimo to let her best bud Olga (Magdalena Lamparska) come to the secret nuptials. When Olga arrives, Laura confesses to her that she's pregnant (no surprise with all that naked yacht time) and they take a joyful trip to shop for Laura's wedding gown. But trouble is afoot.

While heading back to Massimo's compound, and talking about horny Italian men, Laura takes a break to call her intended. As they talk, Massimo's right hand man, Mario (Bronislaw Wroclawski), who's being driven back to Massimo's, gets his own phone call. Instead of being good news, however, Mario's told that "they" are going to kill Laura, and not just sometime soon, but right freakin' now. Mario then tries to call Massimo, but he's on the phone with Laura. When Mario finally arrives, the call between Laura and Massimo has gone dead after her car entered a tunnel. The look Mario gives Massimo tells him that something is very, very wrong, and that's when our kidnapping mobster with a... heart of gold falls to his knees with tears in his eyes.

How Close To The Book Ending Is 365 Days?

I've got news for you. I'm good enough at the language I was raised with to understand full sentences, but there is no way I can read Polish. It's good, then, that there are plenty of other people who can, and according to them, 365 Days the movie ends in much the same way that 365 dni the novel does. Even better, each book picks up right after the other, so the cliffhanger we were treated to is resolved quickly at the start of the second book, which was turned into the sequel 365 Days: This Day, which was released in April 2022. Even better, the original film was such a hit that the streamer also gave the go-ahead to a book to screen adaptation of the third book, which became the thought-provoking film The Next 365 Days and was released in August 2022.

What Happens In The 365 Days Sequels?

Aw, come on, now! You don’t really want me to spoil both of the 365 Days sequels for you, do you? Suffice it to say that Laura and others survive the attempt on her life, but when you're embroiled in a steamy romance with one of the heads of the mafia, you cannot expect life to sail along smoothly.

The last two novels do share several similarities with what ended up on screen for each of the sequels, and should you continue with the franchise you need have no fears that they’re not filled with surprising twists, wild sexy times, nudity and more melodrama and music-filled shots of luscious locations than you can shake whatever body part you so choose at. Aside from reading the books (they’re now available in English) to get an idea of how the last two movies in the series turn out, you can also just go ahead and watch them.

However, if you just can’t stand the suspense (there is an evil twin and another smokin’ hot sex mobster involved, so I get it), you can skip right ahead to finding out how both movies wrap up, because we have info on the 365 Days: This Day ending and explain The Next 365 Days ending, as well (including why it frustrated many fans).

Will There Be A Fourth 365 Days Movie?

Well, aren’t we jumping the gun a bit? Have you even watched the sequels yet? You know what, nevermind. Curiosity is a wonderful thing; who am I to stamp it out?

So, you adored all of the 365 Days franchise, or at least would like to see a different ending for Laura and Massimo’s story. Alright, I hate to tell you this, but as of August 2025, there have been no announcements for a fourth film. As noted earlier, there are only three books in the series, and with those having been adapted, the movies seem to be done also. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for a new film to be in the works at some point, so be sure to bookmark this article, as we’ll update it with any new details should they become available!

Liked 365 Days? Try These Dark, Sexy Stories Next

The 365 Days franchise may be over, but that doesn’t mean that people who want incredibly steamy stories which feature at least a hint of treachery, intrigue or dangerous characters are without other movies and some TV shows to watch next. In fact, I’ve been able to dive into quite a few myself, and believe that the picks below can satisfy the thirst that started with Laura and Massimo.

Deceitful Love (2024)

This Italian limited series, starring former Grey’s Anatomy cast member Giacomo Gianniotti, focuses on a woman who becomes involved with a much younger man, despite her family’s (and her own) concerns about his motives. I was definitely surprised by the twists contained in these six episodes, so when people aren’t naked and horizontal the story is likely to keep you on your toes.

Burning Betrayal (2023)

After finding out that her fiancé has been cheating on her, accountant Babi (Giovanna Lancellotti) quickly begins a romance with the mysterious hot judge who’s presiding over a case involving one of her clients, which leads to unexpected dangers. While you will likely figure out the twist of this romantic thriller pretty early on, with wonderful shots of Brazilian locales, lots of scenes set to sexy music, and a cast of pretty people getting down and dirty, Burning Betrayal will remind you of 365 Days in all the best ways.

Obsession (2023)

The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage stars in this erotic thriller as a famed London surgeon who starts cheating on his wife with his son’s fiancée, and is soon drawn into, you guessed it, obsession. This 2023 limited series is filled with wild sex scenes (including one with a pillow that inspired very NSFW comments from viewers) and a generally ominous tone that leads right to the bonkers Obsession ending, all of which will leave you with lots of intriguing thoughts afterward.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover (2022)

This story is, of course, based on the D.H. Lawrence novel of the same name, and while it’s been adapted many times, I don’t think it’s ever been as moodily sexy and nudity-filled or felt so much like the lovers at the center were embarking on such a dangerous affair. The Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell starrer about a married woman whose World War I-wounded husband demands that she find someone to impregnate her so he can have an heir is a great period piece, with the added bonus of lots of lusty dialogue and amazingly hot sex scenes.

Devotion, a story of love and desire (2021)

This one-season Italian TV series focuses on a husband and wife who appear happy…until an incident on campus with the husband and one of his college students makes his wife doubt his fidelity. This one is brimming with sex and nudity, so even though the treachery aspect only involves cheating, it should still fit the bill.

Sex/Life (2021-2023)

This two-season drama stars Sarah Shahi as a married mom of two young kids who quickly begins to long for the wild and free days of her youth after giving birth to her second child…and reconnecting with her bad-boy ex. Sex/Life is filled with infidelity, sex, nudity, lies and many characters’ poor decisions, to the point where the only thing that 365 Days fans might miss is that film’s kidnapping plot.

These options should give you more than enough to keep you busy with steamy viewing for quite some time!
