After two seasons, Disney+’s The Mandalorian has made a place for itself in the hearts of many Star Wars fans. The action, storytelling and callbacks have been highlights, but fans have also come to love the cast. Gina Carano, who plays Cara Dune, has become a fan-favorite, though her polarizing social media presence has drawn significant backlash. Recently, a number of fans took to social media to show support for the actress and, now, Carano has responded with a sentimental message.

Mandalorian fans recently took to Twitter to spread the hashtag #WeLoveCaraDune, and it managed to gain some significant momentum. Gina Carano took notice of the hashtag and, in addition to retweeting fan posts, she also shared a post of her own in which she thanked them for their support. Check it out below:

Gina Carano has proven to be quite active on social media and, since her following has grown due to her role on The Mandalorian, she occasionally interacts with her fans. So the fact that she would send such a response to them isn’t too unexpected.

As mentioned, the actress’s social media presence has been controversial at times. Last year, Gina Carano received backlash after sharing posts that expressed anti-mask views in the midst of the ongoing COVD-19 pandemic. And during the 2020 U.S. presidential election, she shared voter fraud theories that were ultimately found to be inaccurate.

Sometime after these tweets surfaced, #FireGinaCarano began to trend on Twitter and, in response, another hashtag, #StandWithGinaCarano, also made its way across the interwebs. Carano has since received support from Mandalorian co-stars like Pedro Pascal and Ming-Na Wen.

Gina Carano is well aware of how some feel about her activities on social media, as she’s even said that some of her posts can “bring the fire out in people.” Still, the actress says she’ll continue to use the web and will focus on the people who “are not bothered” by her presence.

All in all, Carano seems to be enjoying her status as a member of the Star Wars family, though it hasn’t been without its set of adjustments. The actress had to get used to the fact that The Mandalorian requires such a high level of secrecy. For her, this was especially true when preparations were made for the return of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker in the Season 2 finale.

It would appear that Gina Carano is standing firm on her decision to pay attention to the fans that bring her positivity. And as time goes on, fans will likely continue to show both her and Cara Dune love.

The first two seasons of The Mandalorian are now streaming on Disney+, which you can sign up for using this link.
