Beverly Hills 90210 Is Getting A Lifetime Tell-All, Get The Details

Remember when the “real” look behind-the-scenes of your favorite TV shows was covered by the myriad of E! True Hollywood Story installments? Well it looks like Lifetime has officially taken over that duty with their unauthorized tell-alls, and the latest series to get this treatment is the hit teen soap Beverly Hills 90210. You win all the free food from the Peach Pit if you guessed it’ll be called The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story.

This new project was announced less than a year after The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story made us so excited, and two months before The Unauthorized Full House Story will have mercy on us. Beverly Hills 90210 definitely seemed like the perfect choice for a third entry in this unofficial series of flicks, as it’s got all the teen drama and angst one can possibly imagine, and it’s topped off with a healthy helping of overbearing actors’ egos.

According to THR, the project won’t cover the entirety of the Fox drama’s run, but will instead focus on “the roller coaster ride of the teen soap’s first four seasons,” and will shine a presumably ridiculous light on the relationships between the large cast and the show’s producers, both on-set and off. As well, the show’s initial ratings troubles and cancelation possibilities will be covered.

Fans of the show probably aren’t surprised that it’s the first four years of the show’s decade-long run that are being showcased in this movie, as those were the years that Shannen Doherty starred as Brenda Walsh before leaving the show altogether. (She didn’t return to the franchise until Season 1 of the spinoff 90210.) Doherty, who was replaced by Tiffani Thiessen in her first bad girl role, was a major source of the behind-the-scenes drama, so I expect her part to get blown completely out of proportion.

Of all the things we are hoping to get out of this TV movie, the bang-heavy hair and the fashion are on the top of the list. (If the cast for the Full House movie is any indication, it’ll be glorious.) As well, we can’t wait to see all of the spectacularly somber reaction shots, many of which are put together for this amazing video.

The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story will be the first produced screenplay from scribe Jeff Roda, and it’ll be directed by Jack and Jill vs. the World’s Vanessa Parise. Although an airdate has yet to be set, we can expect it to hit Lifetime at some point either late this year or in early 2016.
