Californication Season 6 Teaser Showcases New Characters And Old

When Showtime announced Californication would be getting a sixth season, it kind of answered the big the question left floating at the end of the fifth. Yep, Hank Moody (obviously) survived another dangerous encounter with sex, drugs and rock n’ roll (this time in the form of a particularly psychotic ex-girlfriend) and lived to write another day.

And while we learned a few major details about the upcoming year in the first teaser for Season 6 of Californication, this behind-the-scenes featurette shares more story secrets. It also helps fans to catch up with each of the main characters as well as meet a few of the newcomers. Take a look, below.

David Duchovny's Hank Moody is on a downward spiral (shocking), Runkle's trying out as a 'gaygent' and the ex-wives are living together. Then there's Maggie Grace and Tim Minchin, who play into the Broadway musical 'terrible idea.' Hank Moody’s God Hates Us All, the book that became a romantic comedy (A Crazy Little Thing Called Love) hated by its author, is now being turned into a Broadway musical by Minchin’s reckless rockstar Atticus Fetch. Winter will play the rocker’s wife and Grace a groupie (or muse)--both probably primed for a romantic entanglement with Hank. If I’m guessing.

The sixth season of Californication premieres Sunday, January 13 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Showtime. Created by Tom Kapinos, it stars David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone, Madeleine Martin, Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon.
